The course of abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is cutting out of skin excess and adipose tissue from the abdomen. After separating the subcutaneous tissue from the muscular tissue, the navel is relocated. If the muscular capacity decreases, stitches are applied to strengthen them. The surgery will give your skin the proper tension. To avoid the possible accumulation of blood, two drains are usually applied prophylactically under the skin. It is worth noting that the abdominoplasty is a large, invasive, relatively complicated operation burdened with certain risks. It takes from three to four hours. It is carried out under general anesthesia. The technique of performing the surgery allows hiding scars – cuts are made around the navel and at the bottom of the abdomen.
Instructions after the treatment
The patient may suffer from post-operative pain and a general weakness of the body after the surgery. On the first days after the surgery, the patient cannot do any physical activities and it is required to lie down. Hospitalization usually lasts for a few days. The patient may return to everyday activities after two weeks. During the following months, patients should avoid doing exercises and physical effort.
